Item & BOM Costing¶
Overview¶
Dynapro Manufacturing rolls up calculated and reference costs from a production BOM onto the item, so planners and cost accountants can see the current build-up cost of a manufactured item without manually tracing every sub-assembly. It also enriches the cost-share breakdown with pricing freshness indicators.
Cost Fields on the Item Card¶
The Item Card (group Manufacturing → Calculations) shows:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Calculation Cost | The calculation cost for the item. |
| Calculated BOM Cost | The calculated BOM cost, rolled up from the production BOM. Read-only. |
| Reference Cost | The reference cost for the item. |
| Calc. BC (Ref. Price) | The calculated reference cost. |
| Last Item Ledger Entry Date | The posting date of the most recent item ledger entry for this item, shown next to Unit Cost. |
Recalculating BOM Cost¶
Use Update Future Cost on the Item Card to roll up costs from the item's production BOM.
- Open the item and choose Update Future Cost.
- The app runs the Calculate BOM Cost report, recursively rolling up costs from sub-assemblies.
- Calculated BOM Cost and Calc. BC (Ref. Price) are updated on the item.
Cost Breakdown Freshness¶
The BOM Cost Shares view adds columns to help you judge how current the cost data is:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Unit Cost (Item Card) | The item's current unit cost. |
| Last Item Ledger Entry Date | Highlighted when older than one year, flagging stale cost data. |
| Last Purchase Price/Prod. Cost | Highlighted when higher than the item's unit cost, flagging a price increase not yet reflected. |
| Inv. Posting Group | The item's inventory posting group. |
