Material Classification¶
Overview¶
Dynapro Manufacturing adds a lightweight Material classification — a material quality or grade — that you assign to an item and that then flows automatically onto sales and purchase documents. Sales, purchasing, and item master staff use this.
Maintaining Materials¶
Open Material to maintain the list of material qualities:

Assigning a Material to an Item¶
Set the Material field on the item card. This is a read-only display elsewhere — it always reflects the material set on the item.
Where Material Appears¶
When Activate Material is on in setup, the Material field is shown (read-only, copied from the item) on:
- Item Card and Item List
- Sales Order and Purchase Order lines
- Sales Lines and Purchase Lines
- Posted Sales Shipment and Posted Purchase Receipt lines
The material is copied automatically whenever an item number is entered on a sales or purchase line, so no manual entry is needed.
