Consumption & Journals¶
Overview¶
Dynapro Manufacturing extends the standard consumption calculation with an additional mode for manually entering output, and shows upcoming inventory changes and extended descriptions on manufacturing journals. Shop-floor operators posting consumption and output use these.
Calculating Consumption¶
When Use Calc. Consumption is on in setup, the standard Calc. Consumption action on the Consumption Journal is replaced with an extended version that adds a third calculation mode:
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Actual Output | Calculates consumption from the actual posted output (standard behaviour). |
| Expected Output | Calculates consumption from the expected output (standard behaviour). |
| Enter Output | Lets you key in an output quantity manually and calculates consumption from that figure. |
The extended report also lets you override the Picking Location used for the calculation.
Choose the default mode for this action with Calculation Based on in setup.
Journal Fields¶
| Field | Where | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Description 2 | Consumption Journal, Production Journal | An extended description, shown when enabled in setup. |
| Returned Offspec | Consumption Journal, Item Ledger Entries | Whether the item has been returned to the offspec location. See Offspec Returns & Shortage Handling. |
Location Code and Bin Code columns on the Consumption Journal are only visible while the Dynapro subscription is active.
