Overview¶
What is Dynapro Item Sales Price Calculator?¶
Dynapro Item Sales Price Calculator lets you build a detailed cost estimate for a manufactured item and derive a recommended sales price from it — before the item is ever produced or sold. It's a quoting and cost-estimation tool for made-to-order or configure-to-order items: "what will this item cost me, and what should I sell it for?"
A calculation combines three types of cost:
- Material — auto-populated from the item's Production BOM, exploded recursively through sub-BOMs.
- Work/Routing — auto-populated from the item's certified Routing (setup/run/wait/move time × work/machine center rates, or a flat subcontracted price).
- Additional — manually entered costs such as freight, packaging, or other surcharges.
These sum to a Total Cost, from which a Sales Price is derived using a Calculation Factor.

- Create a calculation for an item that has a Production BOM, and set the order quantity.
- Material and Work lines are generated automatically from the item's current BOM and Routing.
- Add Additional cost lines manually for freight, packaging, or other surcharges.
- Set the sales price, either by entering a Calculation Factor or a Sales Price directly.
- Lock the calculation once it's final, to prevent further edits.
- Transfer the price to a sales quote or order line.
- If a production order is created from that sales order, the calculation's cost/routing data can flow into it — see Production Order Integration.
- Print a formal calculation document at any point.
