Production Order Integration¶
Overview¶
When a sales order line linked to a calculation is used to create a production order, the calculation's cost and routing data can flow directly into that production order — rather than the production order re-exploding the item's live BOM and Routing.
Why this matters¶
By the time a calculation is created and locked, it may include manual overrides — adjusted routing costs, added additional cost lines, or a specific subcontracted price. Using the calculation as the source for the production order's components and routing preserves exactly what was calculated at quote time, rather than pulling in whatever the item's BOM/Routing look like at production time.
Viewing the linked calculation¶
A Calculation No. field appears on:
- Firm Planned Production Order Lines
- Released Production Order Lines
- Finished Production Order Lines
This field is informational, showing which calculation drove the given production order line's cost and routing data.
