Sales Order Enhancements¶
Overview¶
Dynapro Trade adds order classification, a simplified special-order process, custom delivery dates, delivery-readiness visibility, and other helpers to the Sales Order. Sales administrators and order processors use these day to day.
Order Types¶
When Enable Sales Order Type is on in setup, the sales order shows an Order Type field. Maintain the list of types on the Order Types page (Code, Description) and assign one to each order to classify it.
Simplified Special Orders¶
For items you don't stock but order specifically for a sales order, Dynapro Trade simplifies drop-ship-style purchasing.
- On the sales line, flag the line as a Special Order and set the Vendor No. to the vendor that supplies the item.
- Use the special-order action to create purchase orders from the sales order's special-order lines. The app runs the lines through a dedicated requisition worksheet, applies the vendor from each line, and creates the purchase order automatically.
- The resulting purchase lines open for review.
This requires Enable Simplified Special Orders and a configured requisition worksheet in setup. See Setup & Enabling.
Custom Delivery Dates¶
When Use Custom Delivery Dates is on, you can set delivery dates on the sales order without them being recalculated automatically from shipping time, which is useful when a customer has requested a specific date.
Delivery Readiness¶
The sales order shows a Delivery Status (Items) field (when Sales Order, Show Deliverability is on):
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| No Items To Ship | The order has no items to ship. |
| Ready For Delivery | All items are available at the order's location. |
| Partly Ready For Delivery | Some items are available. |
| Not Ready For Delivery | Items are missing. |
The same status drives activity cues on the Whse. WMS Role Center and Whse. Worker WMS Role Center: Ready For Delivery, Partly Ready For Delivery, Not Ready For Delivery, and Picking (orders assigned for picking).
Packed By¶
Use Packed By to record who packed a sales order or a service order. The value stays on the posted shipment. You can see who packed the order after the order is shipped and invoiced.
- Open the Sales Order or the Service Order.
- On the General FastTab, set Packed By. The field is after Status.
- Post the shipment.
The app copies Packed By to the Posted Sales Shipment or the Posted Service Shipment. On the posted shipment, the field is read-only. It is after No. on the General FastTab.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Packed By | Specifies the employee who packed the order. Select a code from the Salespersons/Purchasers list. |
Enable Packed By in setup controls only the visibility of the field on these four pages. The app stores and copies the value also when the setting is off. See Setup & Enabling.
Other Sales Order Helpers¶
| Field / Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Picking By | The person picking the order, shown when Enable Picking By is on. |
| Cancel Order | Marks the order cancelled, then archives and deletes it. Blocked if anything has already shipped or invoiced. |
| Print Picking List | Prints the picking list for the order. |
| Post Shipment / Post and Print Shipment | Posts the shipment, optionally printing it. |
Block Shipment Date Edit, when on in setup, prevents editing the shipment date on sales lines directly, keeping it in sync with the header.
