Inventory Adjustment¶
Overview¶
If a deviation results in stock that can no longer be used, post a Negative Inventory Adjustment directly from the Deviation Report instead of creating a separate item journal entry manually.
Prerequisites¶
Before using this action, an administrator must configure the Item Journal Template Name and Item Journal Batch Name in the module setup — see Setup & Permissions. The action is unavailable until these are set.
Posting the adjustment¶
- Open the Deviation Report for the affected item.
- Set Item Disposition to Scrapped (see Disposition & Severity) if applicable.
- Choose Negative Inventory Adjustment.
- If the item uses serial or lot tracking, the quantity is posted against the Serial No. / Lot No. and Location already recorded on the report.
- The app posts a negative line through the configured item journal template/batch, reducing on-hand inventory.
Reviewing the posting¶
The Deviation Report shows a read-only Item Ledger Entry No. once the adjustment has been posted. Select it to drill down to the resulting Item Ledger Entry for full traceability.
One adjustment per report
Once an adjustment has been posted for a deviation report, the Item Ledger Entry No. field prevents posting a duplicate adjustment for the same report.
