Setup & Permissions¶
Overview¶
Configure Dynapro Quality Management before end users start registering deviations, and assign the right permission sets to the right people.
Deviation Management Setup¶
Open Deviation Management Setup to configure:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable Deviation Management | Master on/off switch. Turning it on also enables the corresponding Business Central application area. |
| No. Series for Deviation Reports | Required. Determines how Deviation Report numbers are generated. |
| Use Larger Text Areas for Free Text Fields | Switches long text fields (Description, Cause, Corrective Action, Follow-up) to a larger text-editing control. On by default. |
| Show the field Proposed Corrective Action | Toggles visibility of that field on the Deviation Report. On by default. |
| Item Journal Template Name / Batch Name | Required before the Negative Inventory Adjustment action can be used — see Inventory Adjustment. |
The setup page also has a Severity Classifications action for quick access to severity band maintenance — see Classification Setup.
Enabling the feature¶
Enabling the application area makes Deviation Management visible in Business Central's Feature/Experience settings. When the app is installed in a company, this application area is enabled automatically if it isn't already.
Licensing¶
Dynapro Quality Management requires a Dynapro license. Use the Update License and Register Trial License actions on the setup page (SaaS only) to activate or renew your subscription.
Permission Sets¶
| Permission Set | Grants |
|---|---|
| DYP DM User | Everyday operational access: view setup, and insert/modify Deviation Reports and their related data (Related Documents, Technical Drawings, Images). Classification/master data (Cause Codes, Error Codes, Equipment, Consequence Categories, Internal Processes, Severity Classifications) is read-only. |
| DYP DM Edit | Full edit rights (insert/modify/delete), including the classification/master data tables. Assign to administrators who maintain cause codes, severity bands, and equipment lists. |
Assign DYP DM User to everyday users who register and process deviations, and DYP DM Edit to administrators who maintain classification setup data.
Role Center integration¶
The "Assigned to Me" cue is added to the following role centers, showing each user's count of open (not yet completed) deviation reports assigned to them:
- Accountant
- Accounting Manager
- Business Manager
- Production Planner (Manufacturing Manager)
- Order Processor — also gets a quick-create Deviation Report action in the ribbon
- Team Member
