Service Item Groups & Components¶
Overview¶
You can predefine a component list on a Service Item Group and copy it — or a production BOM — onto individual service items. This gives technicians a ready view of a machine's sub-components. Service engineers and administrators set up the components.
The Service Item Group Component List¶
Open the Service Item Group Component List from the standard Service Item Groups page, using the Add components to Service Group action. It lists the components defined for the group.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Active | Whether the component is in use. |
| Type | The component type (for example, Item). |
| No. | The number of the component, from the number series. |
| Variant Code | The variant of the item on the line. |
| Description | A description of the component. |
| Serial No. | The serial number of the component. |
| Component Type | An extra classification of the component (blank or Motor). |
Copying Components onto a Service Item¶
On the standard Service Item Component List for a service item, use these actions to fill the component list:
| Action | Does |
|---|---|
| Get Components from Service Item Group | Inserts the components defined on the item's service item group. |
| Get Components from Item BOM List | Inserts the components from a chosen item's production BOM. |
| Get Components from P.O. BOM List | Inserts the components from a production order BOM. |
Copying Items into Component Lists¶
On the Item Card, the Dynapro Service Mgt. group has Copy item to service item components. When on, the item is included when a BOM is exploded into a service item's component list. This keeps component lists limited to the items you want to track.
