Operating Hours¶
Overview¶
Dynapro Service Management tracks machine operating (running) hours on service items and their lines. Each Service Item Group carries a policy for whether hours must be registered, and the app reminds technicians when hours are missing. Technicians enter the hours; dispatchers see the warnings.
The Registration Policy per Group¶
On the Service Item Groups page, set Registration Hours Used to control the policy for items in the group:
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Never | Operating hours are not tracked for this group. |
| Alternative | Operating hours can be registered but are not required. |
| Always | Operating hours must be registered. |
When a group requires hours (Always or Alternative) and none are registered, the app raises the notification "New operating hours are not registered".
Registering Hours on a Service Order¶
On the service item lines of a service order (the Service Order Subform), register hours in these fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Qty. Hours Used | The number of hours used for the service item. |
| Hours Used Registered | The hours of use registered for the service item. |
| Date Last Registered | The date running hours were last registered for the service item. |
| Customer Serial No. | The customer's serial number for the item. |
When you enter Qty. Hours Used on a line, the value rolls up to the service item if it is higher than the item's current value.
Hours on the Service Item Card¶
The Service Item Card shows the running-hours history in the Cost and Use group:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Qty. Hours Used | The total hours used for the service item. |
| Warranty (Hours Used) | The warranty based on hours used. |
| Date Last Registered | The date hours were last registered. |
The same hours fields flow onto the service line, and the posted service invoice, so registered hours stay with the history.
