Service Item Status & Warranty¶
Overview¶
Each service item line on an order carries an operational status, and the app shows on-screen warnings when a machine is not operational or when operating hours are missing. You can also toggle warranty directly on the service item line, but only before any service lines exist. Technicians and dispatchers use these fields and warnings.
Service Item Status¶
The Service Item Status field on a service item line shows whether the machine is Operational or Not operational. The standard status list is extended with In Production, Delivered, and Used Machine.
The Customer Serial No. field records the customer's own serial number for the item. It can be filled manually or automatically from the item card when an item is selected.
The service item line factbox shows the Number of Service Contracts the item is on, as a drill-down.
Warranty Control¶
When Allow Change Warranty Flag is enabled in setup, you can toggle warranty on a service item line. Toggling it prompts: "Do you want to activate/deactivate a warranty for this service item line?" and copies the warranty percentages and dates from the service item.
Warranty can only be changed while no service lines exist for the item. If lines exist, the app blocks the change with: "There are service lines registered for this service item. Warranty can not be changed here."
Warnings and Notifications¶
The app raises notifications on the order. Manage them in My Notifications:
| Notification | Shown when |
|---|---|
| Operational Status of Machine | A service item on the order is not operational. |
| New operating hours are not registered | A group that requires hours has no hours registered. See Operating Hours. |
| Purchase is not received … before the specified start date | Parts ordered for the order have not arrived in time. See Purchasing & PO Warnings. |
