Transport Zones & Loading Zones¶
Overview¶
Transport zones and loading zones are the two foundational geography concepts that drive transport pricing and planning.
Transport Zones¶
A Transport Zone represents a delivery region. Each zone has:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Country/Region | The country/region the zone belongs to. |
| Zone Type | Zone (a generic named delivery region), City, or Other. |
| Zone | The zone code. |
| Description | Free text describing the zone. |
A zone code cannot be reused across zone types within the same country/region — each Country/Region + Zone Type + Zone combination must be unique.
Maintain transport zones via the Transport Zones list page (Administration).
Loading Zones¶
A Loading Zone represents a shipping/warehouse origin point used for planning outbound pickups — for example a specific warehouse or loading dock. Unlike Transport Zones, Loading Zones are a simple code/description list, not tied to a country or zone type. A sales order's Loading Zone field records where the goods will be picked up from, independent of the delivery-side Transport (Delivery) Zone.
Maintain loading zones via the Loading Zones list page (Administration).
