Dangerous Goods

Overview

The Cargonizer Connector supports shipments that contain hazardous materials. Classify each parcel with the required dangerous goods (DG) information. Business Central includes this information in the consignment sent to Cargonizer. Use Dangerous Goods Templates to pre-configure frequently shipped hazardous items and apply them in one step.

Dangerous Goods Information per Parcel

Open a transport order line and use the Dangerous Goods action to open the Dangerous Goods Lines page. Add one line per hazardous item, with the following data:

Field Description
Name Technical / proper name of the dangerous good
UN Number United Nations dangerous goods identification number (e.g., 1950)
Tunnel Code ADR tunnel restriction category (A–E)
Labels Hazard class label(s) (e.g., 2.1, 8, 9)
Packing Group I (high danger), II (medium danger), or III (low danger)
Type Packing type descriptor
Amount Number of individual dangerous goods items
Gross Weight Gross weight including packaging
Net Weight Net weight of the dangerous substance

Mixed loads with multiple UN numbers per parcel are supported. Add one Dangerous Goods line per hazardous item.

Dangerous Goods Templates

To save time and ensure consistent classification for frequently shipped hazardous items, create Dangerous Goods Templates.

Creating a Template

  1. Open Dangerous Goods Templates from the Cargonizer menu.
  2. Choose New.
  3. Enter the Name, UN Number, Tunnel Code, Labels, Packing Group, and any other recurring fields.
  4. Give the template a recognisable name.

Applying a Template

On the Dangerous Goods Lines page (opened from the transport order line): 1. Use the Apply Template action. 2. Select the template. 3. The fields are populated instantly. Adjust quantities and weights as needed for the specific shipment.

Adding Dangerous Goods to a Transport Order

  1. Open the transport order and select the line (parcel) that contains the hazardous item.
  2. Use the Dangerous Goods action on the lines subpage to open the Dangerous Goods Lines page.
  3. Enter the dangerous goods data manually, or use Apply Template to fill it from a saved template.

Business Central includes the dangerous goods data in the consignment XML when you dispatch the transport order. Products that support dangerous goods display a Dangerous Goods Supported flag.

Prerequisites

  • Your carrier and product must support dangerous goods. If the DG-capable products do not appear, contact your Cargonizer account manager to confirm DG is enabled for your agreement.
  • Dangerous goods regulations (ADR, IATA, IMDG) are the shipper's responsibility. The Cargonizer Connector transmits the information you provide. Verify that all classifications are correct before dispatch.
