Consolidated Consignments

Overview

When you dispatch multiple sales shipments to the same recipient, you can merge them into a single transport order. This avoids creating multiple consignments for one physical delivery.

When to Use Consolidated Consignments

  • You ship multiple orders for the same customer on the same day and want one label and one consignment ID.
  • You pick orders in batches and combine them at the loading dock before dispatch.
  • Your carrier charges per consignment, and consolidating reduces costs.

Creating a Consolidated Consignment

  1. Open the Consolidated Consignment report from the Cargonizer menu.
  2. Filter or select the Posted Sales Shipments you want to merge.
  3. The report creates a single Transport Order and links all selected shipments to it via Transport Order Source Lines.
  4. The consolidated transport order can then be sent to Cargonizer in the usual way.

What Is Combined

Data Behaviour
Parcels (lines) All parcel lines from all source shipments are collected onto the single transport order
Weights Gross weight is the sum of all parcels
NVIT Lines NVIT customs lines from all source shipments are merged (see NVIT)
Source References Each source shipment is recorded as a source line, so traceability is maintained
Recipient Address Taken from the first (or primary) source shipment

Tracking Source Shipments

After consolidation, the Transport Order Source Lines subpage on the transport order lists every source shipment that contributed parcels. From there you can navigate back to each original posted shipment.

From any Posted Sales Shipment, the Related Transport Orders page shows the consolidated transport order it was merged into.

Consolidated Returns

Consolidated outbound shipments can also have a consolidated return transport order generated. The return merges all source shipments' return parcels into one return consignment. See Return Shipments.

Notes

  • Shipments from different customers cannot be consolidated into a single transport order.
  • After you send a consolidated transport order to Cargonizer, you cannot split it into individual transport orders. To split, cancel the consolidated transport order before dispatch and create individual transport orders instead.
  • You can configure the consignment reference on the consolidated label to show the first source order number or the transport order number.
