Multi-Warehouse Sender IDs

Overview

For companies that ship from multiple warehouses or pickup locations, each warehouse can be configured with its own Cargonizer Sender ID. This ensures that when a shipment is dispatched from a given location, the consignment is booked under the correct Cargonizer account — automatically, with no manual selection required.

Background

In Cargonizer, each physical pickup address has a Sender ID. If your business ships from multiple warehouses, each warehouse may have a different Sender ID per carrier. Without per-location configuration, all shipments are booked under the same sender account. This can cause incorrect pickup instructions, incorrect billing, and incorrect label information.

Configuring a Sender ID per Location

  1. Open the Locations list (or a specific Location Card) in Business Central.
  2. On the Shipping FastTab, fill in the Cargonizer-specific fields:
Field Description
Sender ID The Cargonizer Sender ID for this location (obtained from Cargonizer)
Default Transport Agreement The carrier to use by default when shipping from this location
Default Product Code The service level to use by default for this location
Printer ID The DirectPrint printer assigned to this location
  1. Save. All transport orders created for shipments from this location will use the Sender ID and defaults configured here.

How Sender ID Is Resolved

When building the consignment XML for a transport order, the Sender ID is resolved as follows:

  1. Location on the transport order / source shipment — if the location has a Sender ID, it is used.
  2. Global setup — if no location-level Sender ID is set, the Sender ID from Cargonizer Setup is used as the fallback.

This means a single-warehouse company needs only the global Sender ID, while multi-warehouse companies override it per location.

Testing the Configuration

After configuring Sender IDs:

  1. Create a sales order assigned to each location and post the shipment.
  2. Open the resulting transport orders and verify the Sender ID field shows the expected value for each location.
  3. If auto-send is enabled, verify the Cargonizer consignment was created under the correct sender account in the Cargonizer portal.

Notes

  • Sender IDs are carrier-specific in Cargonizer. If you use multiple carriers from the same warehouse, you may need a Sender ID per carrier. Contact your Cargonizer account manager to confirm the correct Sender IDs for each location and carrier combination.
  • The location-level Default Transport Agreement and Default Product Code override the global setup defaults. User-level defaults override the location-level defaults. See Carrier & Product Selection for the full priority chain.
