Indirect Time¶
Overview¶
Indirect time is non-productive time — cleaning, maintenance, meetings, or stops — that an operator logs against a code instead of a production order. This keeps the operator's clocked time complete while separating productive work from indirect activity. Indirect time posts to a capacity journal.
Open the feature from the Information Board Indirect Time button, which opens the OPC Indirect Time list of codes.
Logging Indirect Time¶
- Open Indirect Time from the Information Board.
- Select the indirect time code that matches the activity.
- Choose Start/Stop Time to start logging against that code.
- Choose it again to stop.
While indirect time is running, the operator's time is recorded against the code (a Stop Code) with no production order. This appears on the Resource Status Board.
Indirect Time Codes¶
Each indirect time code is a simple record:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Code | The identifier operators pick from the list. |
| Description | What the code represents. |
Administrators maintain codes in OPC Indirect Time Admin. Operators pick from OPC Indirect Time.
Each OPC indirect time code stays in sync with a standard Business Central Stop record, flagged as an indirect time stop. This means the codes integrate with standard capacity reporting.
Setup That Controls Indirect Time¶
