Run Times & Corrections

Overview

The OPC Run Times table is the engine behind operation registration. Each start and stop time-stamp becomes a run-time record before it posts to the standard Capacity Ledger Entry. This guide explains the run-time and capacity views that supervisors use, and how to correct a posted capacity ledger entry.

Run Times

Every time an operator starts and stops time on an operation, OPC writes a run-time. Open OPC Run Times (an administration list) to review them.

Field Description
Entry No. The run-time identifier.
Prod. Order No. The production order.
Operation No. The operation.
Machine Center The resource. Locked once set.
Starting Date / Starting Time When time started.
Ending Date / Ending Time When time ended.
Finish Now Marks the run-time to close and post.
Posted Whether the run-time has posted to the capacity ledger.
Stop Code The indirect time code, for indirect time run-times.
Gross Operation Time The total registered time.
Adjustment Factor The factor used to distribute time across concurrent operations.

Capacity Ledger Entries

Time and output post to the standard Capacity Ledger Entry. Open OPC Capacity Ledger Entry List to review them:

Field Description
Order No. The production order.
Posting Date When the entry posted.
Starting Time / Ending Time The registered window.
Run Time The adjusted run time.
Run Time Unadjusted The run time before concurrency adjustment.
Stop Time Stop time on the entry.
Quantity The output quantity.
Stop Code The stop/indirect code.

The OPC Capacity Ledger Entry matrix view shows entries by period. Use View By and the previous/next set actions to change the period.

Correcting a Capacity Ledger Entry

Supervisors can correct a posted entry — for example, a wrong run time — from the OPC Capacity Ledger Entry List:

Correct with a dialog

  1. Select the entry.
  2. Choose Correction.
  3. The Correct Capacity Ledger Entry dialog shows the Old Value and a New Value field.
  4. Enter the corrected value and confirm. OPC posts the correction.

Correct in a journal

  1. Select the entry.
  2. Choose Correct in Journal.
  3. OPC adds a reversing line to the capacity or output correction journal for review and posting.

The correction journals and the Open Journal Page After Correction option are configured in Setup.
